
Michael Stein, PE, President
Michael Stein received his education in civil engineering with a concentration in structural and geotechnical from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1976. As the principal engineer and president of Stein Engineers, Inc., Mr. Stein oversees all operations of the company. He has a wide range of experience in concrete, structural steel, cold-formed steel, timber and aluminum structures and has designed and constructed facilities ranging from single-family homes to nuclear power plants. The first ten years of his career he worked for Stone and Webster Engineering Corporation on the structural design of nuclear power plants. The following decade he worked with Gulf State Utilities/Entergy Operations at River Bend Station where he developed the structural design program within the utility’s engineering group on site. In 1996, Mr. Stein began independent consulting, concentrating on resolution of structural problems with residential and commercial construction, as well as design of structures for residential and commercial buildings. He founded Stein Engineers in 2006.

Nikolaus Stein, Vice President
Nikolaus Stein received his education in architecture from Louisiana State University and has worked in the engineering business since 2002. He has applied his architecture background efficiently ensuring that structural designs produced by our company are not only constructable, but also fulfill the design concept developed by the architect. His detailed approach to computer modeling of structures and details minimizes problems with interfaces in the field during erection. Mr. Stein’s background in architecture also assists with understanding the design concept visualized by the architect and ensuring it is successfully achieved.
